About
My name is Jill Hollett, I am a freelance illustrator and graphic artist, with a decade of creative experiences, currently living in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Alberta in 2021 with a major in painting and 3.9 GPA. My style is constantly evolving but draws from my past background as a tattoo artist and my previous years of study at the Edmonton Digital Arts College and The Alberta University of the Arts.
As a freelance illustrator, I had the pleasure of crafting artwork for local businesses and bands, letting my creativity flow freely. From my work as a tattoo artist, I have learned the importance of telling stories through images and I developed a passion for helping people to express themselves through art. After immersing myself in the tattoo world, I chose to complete my artistic education at The University of Alberta, where I proudly earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with distinction.
Throughout my educational journey, I supported myself entirely through my art. I attended local art fairs and successfully ran an online store where I showcased merchandise and apparel of my own designs, creating a unique space for art lovers to find one-of-a-kind works.
After graduating, I embarked on a new adventure, stepping into the world of video game design. I began as an intern at Beamdog, honing my skills as a concept artist. My passion and dedication were quickly recognized, leading to a full-time role as a graphic artist. While in this role I discovered a passion for 3d modeling, graphic design and graphic arts.
I have granted myself the opportunity to explore a variety of roles in the artistic field, and because of this, I have developed a well-rounded practice. My art is not just a profession; it's a way of life, an ongoing exploration of creativity, and an unending journey of self-expression.
